Kerry Kingborg graduated from the State University of New York earning his degree in Musical Instrument Technology. Kerry is a leading expert in the field of wind instrument design, manufacturing and repair. As an instrumentalist, Kerry has performed professionally on oboe with the Cortland, NY symphony orchestra and played lead saxophone with the Moonlighters Big Band in Dothan, AL.

Kerry worked nine years for United Musical Instruments and Conn-Selmer in Elkhart, Indiana where he ran production departments, designed clarinets, oboes, flutes and saxophones, and was Product Manager for Woodwinds. He has traveled globally to wind instrument factories with the purpose of raising quality standards and introducing manufacturing efficiencies.

As a clinician, Kerry has given presentations to NAPBIRT (National Association of Professional Band Instrument Technicians) on such topics as oboe repair, instrument construction and emergency repair.

Kerry first worked in the Dothan store in the early to mid-1980’s as a Repair Technician. Has has rejoined the Art’s Music Shop team (summer 2013), working out of the Birmingham store, where he’s involved with sales and school service.
