Mike Mason received his musical training at the University of Alabama. As a tuba performance major, he was principal tuba in all college ensembles and a frequent substitute and extra player with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. Mike came to Art’s Music Shop in July of 1992 after some match-making by his high school band director, Lavone Dubose. Mike’s territory is south and south central Alabama. Mike splits his time between Montgomery and Gulf Shores, where he now lives. ┬áMike is an active freelance tuba player and is the principal tubist with the Pensacola and Northwest Florida Symphonies. Mike also maintains a studio of young low brass students.
